Daily Cleaning

Vacuum, brush, and scrape any flakes of modeling material off of the Z
stage platen, platform top, and base.
Clean the exposed guide rods and positioning cables with a clean cloth.
Oil the guide rods and cables after cleaning.
Clean the tips and brushes with a wire brush after each model.
Do not use a sharp instrument to clean the positioning cables and
take care not to nick or gouge them. Even a small nick may cause a
cable to fray or break.
There are no customer-serviceable parts in the FDM.
Do not move the head by hand. Moving the FDM head by hand
might damage the instrument.
Do not remove or disassemble the panels of the Stratasys FDM.
This will change the accuracy of the FDM and void the factory-set
calibration of the X-Y table.
Be sure to use only the computer cables supplied by Stratasys with
the FDM 2000/3000/8000. They have been designed and tested to
give optimum performance and to protect the system from electro-
static discharge. Never use the system without the proper shielded
cables. Permanent damage may occur if any motor driver outputs are
shorted to ground. Do not move any mechanism controlled by the
FDM by hand while it is connected.
