9.14 Setting Reference Spectra

SoundAdvisor Model 831C
If a heater is detected as part of your chosen preamp, select your preference
for the heater control.

On the meter, press Tools

Choose a setting from the Heater drop-down menu.
Enabled: The heater automatically turns on or off according to the
humidity and ambient temperature as shown in Figure 9-10. We
recommend using this setting.

Timer: Turns the heater on and off automatically according to the
Start Time (24-hr time) and End Time (24-hr time) you set here.
Off: The heater remains off.
This feature applies to SoundAdvisor™ 831C meters with the Octave Band
Analysis firmware option (831C-OB1) purchased, and installed.
When you apply octave band data, you have the option to choose a negative
or positive A, or C weighting, or you can define up to 4 unique reference
spectra as shown in the following process.
