17.5.2 Understanding Dynamic Triggering
SoundAdvisor Model 831C
1.
The yellow line indicates the event trigger level, which was set at 84dB.
The Leq in this example ran for a 24 hour period using a 1 second Time
History Period.
1.
The bars represent events logged during the measurement. At a mini-
mum of 3 seconds, there are about 5.
With dynamic triggering, the 831C tracks the background noise level, and
adjusts the Trigger Level to equal the background noise plus any indicated
offset. This effectively removes background noise from the trigger level
calculation. To calculate events based on event noise only, Dynamic
triggering is an appropriate method.
