15.1 Setting Up a Measurement With Measurement History

Using Measurement History
T
his module shows how to use the Measurement History feature of
firmware option 831C-ELA, which allows you to segment the data gathered
between Run and Stop into measurement intervals. Measurement intervals
are saved as individual records in a single data file.
Option 831C-ELA provides exceedance-based logging analysis with manual or
timed storage of statistical data and measurement history.
Using Measurement History when the measurement starts, the meter
automatically creates a series of measurement intervals. You define the
duration of each interval. When the measurement stops, all intervals are
saved together in one file.
While measurement parameters can be indicated directly in the Active setup,
it's a good practice to save a setup file for each specific measurement you
perform as shown in this section.
The G4 LD Utility also provides a simple, file transfer-style interface for

Before you begin:

Verify that firmware option 831C-ELA is installed and enabled on your
meter. For more information, see 14.4 Enabling or Disabling
Optional Firmware.
Create a measurement setup file (Setup) as shown in 6.2 Creating a

Custom Setup File On the Meter.

Go to Tools
Setup Manager.

Highlight the name of the Setup file you want to configure with Measurement
History.

Press the top-right softkey (
