9.12.2 Utilizing the Logic Out Feature

With the Time History (831C-LOG) option installed and enabled for that
measurement, Marker #1 will be initiated for the Recording Time indicated in
the Setup, even if there is no sound recording. If sound recording is enabled
for Marker #1, a sound recording also occurs at this time.

The Logic Out line, when triggered, transmits a signal to an external device,
which is usually connected to your 831C via the included I/O Interface cable
(CBL170). Some common applications for this feature include, connecting a
printer or a cellular modem to the 831C.

Select a signal trigger from the Logic Out drop-down menu.
The Logic Out signal is triggered by the following items:
Run/Stop
When the Logic Out is set to Run/Stop, the output is driven high when the
831C is running and is driven low when it is stopped.
Event
When Logic Out is set to Event, the output is activated with an event trigger.
To utilize this state, you must purchase, install, and enable the Time History
firmware option (831C-ELA) on your meter.

Marker
When Logic Out is set to Marker, a marker for sound recording is initiated, the
output is activated for the Recording Time as indicated in the setup. To utilize
this state you must purchase, install, and enable the Sound Recording
firmware option (831C-SR) on your meter.

Modem
When Logic Out is set to Modem, a connected modem (such as a Sierra
Wireless™ cellular modem), becomes active. This connection is particularly
used in conjunction with the Larson Davis NMS044/045 system. For more
