In each lock mode option, the meter displays differently, and certain meter
operations are restricted. Refer to Table 11.1 to understand which lock mode
fits your measurement study needs.

If desired, select the checkbox in-line with Allow Calibration when Locked.
When you select this option, you can calibrate the 831C any time a
measurement is not running, even when locked.
