ach time you manually or automatically store measurement results, a new
data file is created or appended and saved to the location you specify. While
the 831C has 1.8 GB of available internal memory, USB, and cloud storage
options are also available.
On the Meter Preferences page, the Auto-Store and Data Storage settings
allow you to indicate where, when, and how you want the meter to react
when a measurement stops and it's time to store a measurement record.
Step 1
On your 831C, navigate to Tools  System Properties  Preferences.

Choose an option from the Auto-Store drop-down menu:
Choosing an Auto-Store Meter Preference
The Auto-Store meter preference allows you to choose what happens when a
measurement stops.
None: All storage must be done manually, unless in the continuous
daily auto-store mode indicated in a setup.
Prompt: When you press the
are prompted to save the measurement data file. We recommend this
setting for manual measurements only.
Store: A measurement is automatically stored when a measurement
is stopped.
The following Table shows the result of each choice and its relation to the run
mode you choose and a manual or timed stop.
