6.2 Sequence control when switching the motor on and off
Requirement
Functions
In order to be able to respond to external commands, you must set the command interface so
that it fits your specific application.
Tools
To change the function settings, you can use a commissioning tool.
Function description
Converter states S1 ... S5c are defined in the PROFIdrive profile. The sequence control defines
the transition from one state to another.
Converter states
The motor is switched off
Current does not flow in the motor and the motor does not
generate any torque
S1
The converter waits for a new ON command.
The ON command is currently active. You must activate
the ON command again in order that the converter
exits the state.
S2
The converter waits for a new command to switch on
the motor.
S3
The converter waits for "Enable operation". The "Enable
operation" command is always active in the converter
factory setting.

Current flows in the motor and the motor generates a torque
S4
The motor is switched on.
S5a,
The motor is still switched on. The converter brakes
S5c
the motor with the ramp-down time of the ramp-
function generator.
S5b
The motor is still switched on. The converter brakes
the motor with the OFF3 ramp-down time.
