3.10.5 Possible solutions to unstable 1000Mbps links

Certain combinations with connected hubs may cause 1000Mbps links to go unstable.
When you plan to use networks at a 1000Mbps speed, it is required that you verify
connection with the target hub in advance.
When the 1000Mbps link goes unstable, one of the following actions may recover the
stability of the link:
• Use an appropriate LAN cable with the length of 20 m or longer to less than 100 m.
(Be sure to use a UTP cable of category 5e or higher.)
• Change the value of Gigabit Master Slave Mode to Force Master Mode (only
effective with the link speed setting of 1000Mbps).
Steps to perform the latter action are shown below. Should such action with your
connected hub cause 1000Mbps link to be lost, however, restore the setting to Auto
Detect.

1. Do steps 1 through 4 in Subsection 3.10.3, "How to set up link speed and duplex
mode."
