8. USAGE NOTES
 Keep the voltages between the low-voltage side of the power supply and the
maintenance ground (Class D grounding* (formerly Class 3 grounding)) at 250 VAC
or less. If the voltage is higher than 250 VAC, install an insulation transformer or
constant-voltage regulator.
 Keep the Equipment away from magnets, speakers and other components that
generate strong magnetic fields. The Equipment may fail when it is placed near them.
 Since the Equipment includes high-precision components, do not allow the
Equipment to receive a shock during transportation, movement, or usage.
 The Manufacturer assumes no responsibility for loss of data or application software
damage caused by a hardware failure on the Equipment.
 Do not disconnect the power supply to the Equipment or do not press the RESET
switch while communication is in progress or a disk is being read or written.
 During the use of the Equipment, the screen may be suddenly turned off due to an
outage or voltage drop caused by lightning or an unstable power supply. When this
happens, restart the Equipment by disconnecting and connecting the power supply to
the Equipment.
 Use the basic software products specified by the Manufacturer. If any other basic
software product is used, correct operation of the Equipment will not be guaranteed.
 This Equipment is evaluated with the specified hardware in this manual. If any other
hardware product is used, correct operation of the Equipment will not be guaranteed.
 If the Equipment is moved from a hot place to a cold place, condensation may occur
on surfaces or inside the Equipment. Let the Equipment stand for several hours in the
place where the Equipment is to be used before using it.
* Class D grounding is defined in the Technical Standard for Electrical Facilities of
Japan. This standard states that the grounding resistance must be 100 ohms or less for
devices operating on 300 VAC or less, and 500 ohms or less for devices that shut
down automatically within 0.5 second when shorting occurs in low tension lines.
(2) HDD
Do not disconnect the power supply to the Equipment or do not press the RESET switch
while the hard disk is being read or written. Otherwise, the contents of the disk may be
destroyed.
 Handling the HDD
 Back up the contents of the disk periodically.
 When changing an already-created partition, delete it and then create a new partition.
 When a partition is deleted, all files in it are also deleted. Back up important files
before deleting a partition.
