1. GETTING STARTED

1.2.3 Power source conditions

 Please use the power cable attached to the Equipment to avoid some failure,
an electric shock or fire.
 To avoid electric shock or fire, always connect the power cord plug to the
mains power outlet that has grounded neutral connection and further
protection with an earth leakage breaker.
 Do not use a 2-pole, 2-wire power cord with no ground.
Mains power supply to the Equipment must meet the following conditions:
 Voltage range: 100 to 240 V ac with the tolerance of ±10 %, sinusoidal waveform only.
 Frequency: 50/60 Hz with the tolerance of ±3 Hz.
 Momentary power outage: 20 ms or less.
 Outlet with grounded neutral connection, further protected with earth leakage breaker.
 Grounding of Class D* (formerly Class 3) in compliance with Electric Apparatus
Engineering Regulation, thereby sustaining normal operation of high-density LSI
circuits and protecting abnormal voltage in the Equipment as caused by lightning.
* Class D grounding is defined in the Technical Standard for Electrical Facilities of Japan. This
standard states that the grounding resistance must be 100 ohms or less for equipment operating on
300 VAC or less, and 500 ohms or less for devices that shut down automatically within 0.5 second
when shorting occurs in low tension lines.
