10.6.6 Backup restoration preparation function

The backup restoration preparation function adjusts the RAID1 configuration information
of the HDDs and prepares for restoration from the backup data. This function is used before
you restore from the backup data created by commercially available backup software or
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE). (For information about when this
function is used, see Section 10.7, "Backing Up under the Offline Situation".) This function
creates RAID1 configuration information of the HDDs so that the HDDs can be set up as
RAID1. It also changes the HDD status of the drive bay 1 to "ONLINE" and the HDD
status of drive bay 2 to "NORMAL". By doing so, RAID1 can be rebuilt after backup data
is restored.
< NOTE >
• This function just creates and adjusts RAID1 configuration management information. It
does not restore or change data stored in the HDDs. Do not use this function for other
purposes than preparing the restoration from backup.
