[Display and notification of hardware status]
(5) "Hardware status" window
This window provides a GUI that shows the hardware status of the Equipment.
Information relating to drive used hours monitoring is dimmed (not enabled).
You can easily refer to the hardware status of the
Equipment by clicking the Hardware Status icon in
the task tray on the desktop.
With default task tray settings under Windows® 7,
the said Hardware Status icon is usually hidden and
selectable from the "more" icon menu in the task
tray. If you like, you can customize the task tray
settings to make the Hardware Status icon always
visible in the task tray.
(6) Event notification
This feature enables the user to confirm the hardware status of the Equipment by
monitoring the status of event objects from the user application programs.
(7) Pop-up notification
This feature notifies the user of the occurrence of an abnormal event on the Equipment
hardware by displaying pop-up messages.
(8) Digital LED for status indication
The digital LED for status indication located on the front panel notifies the user of the
occurrence of an abnormal event on the Equipment hardware. Because this LED is
also usable from the user application programs, you can utilize it for custom purposes
such as notification of application failure.
(9) Remote notification
This feature enables the user in a remote environment to confirm the hardware status
of the Equipment over the network. This feature also notifies the occurrence of any
change in the status of the Equipment hardware to the user in a remote environment.
(10) Hardware status acquisition by library functions
This feature enables the user to acquire the hardware status of the Equipment by using
the RAS library functions from the user application programs.
