ET SENSOR INSPECTION

The engine temperature sensor is installed at the cylinder.

• Check the ET sensor by testing it at the bench as shown in
the figure. Connect the ET sensor 1 to a circuit tester and
place it in the oil 2 contained in a pan, which is placed on a
stove.
 09900-25008: Malti circuit tester set
 Tester knob indication: Resistance (Ω)
• Heat the oil to raise its temperature slowly and read the col-
umn thermometer 3 and the ohmmeter.
• If the ET sensor ohmic value does not change in the propor-
tion indicated, replace it with a new one.

20 °C (68 °F)
50 °C (122 °F)
80 °C (176 °F)
110 °C (230 °F)

ET SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

• Disconnect the ET sensor coupler 1.
• Remove the ET sensor 2.
• Install the ET sensor in the reverse order of removal.
 ET sensor: 18 N·m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 lb-ft)

IAT SENSOR INSPECTION

The intake air temperature sensor is installed on the top side of
the outlet tube. (4-45)

IAT SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

• Lift up the fuel tank by removing the fuel tank mounting
bolt.(5-3)
• Remove the IAT sensor.
• Install the IAT sensor in the reverse order of removal.

Approx. 4.2 kΩ
Approx. 2.0 kΩ
Approx. 0.5 kΩ
Approx. 0.3 kΩ
