Is the fuel pump OK?
• O/W or Y/W wire open or shorted to ground or
poor V connection
• If wire and connection are OK, intermittent trou-
ble or faulty ECM.
YES
• Recheck each terminal and wire harness for
open circuit and poor connection.
• Replace the ECM with a known good one, and
inspect it again.
NO Replace the fuel pump with a new one.
Step 1 (When indicating P0230-H:)
1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Lift up the fuel tank by removing the fuel tank mounting bolt.
(5-3)
3) Check the Fuel pump coupler for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then check the fuel pump. (5-5)
Is the fuel pump OK?
YES O/W, Y/W wire shorted to power source
NO Replace the fuel pump with a new one.
Step 1 (When indicating P0230-L:)
1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Lift up the fuel tank by removing the fuel tank mounting bolt.

3) Check the Fuel pump coupler for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then check the fuel pump. (5-5)
Is the fuel pump OK?
