Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. AT Commands for EDGE Modems (S000371G)
The AT+CSCS write command informs the TA which character set <chset> is used by the
TE. This enables the TA to convert character strings correctly between TE and ME
character sets. See also Section 1.5, Supported Character Sets.
Note that when the TA-TE interface is set to 8-bit operation and the used TE alphabet is 7-
bit, the highest bit will be set to zero.

GSM default alphabet (GSM 03.38 subclause 6.2.1). Default.
This setting may cause software flow control problems since the codes used to stop and
resume data flow (XOFF = decimal 19, XON = decimal 17) are interpreted as normal
characters.
16-bit universal multiple-octet coded character set (ISO/IEC10646 [32]); UCS2 character
strings are converted to hexadecimal numbers from 0000 to FFFF; e.g., "004100620063"
equals three 16-bit characters with decimal values 65, 98 and 99.
AT^SCFG queries and configures various settings of the Multi-Tech wireless modem.
AT^SCFG read command returns a list of all supported parameters and their current
values.
The write command queries a configuration parameter (if no value is entered) or sets its
value(s).
Input of parameter names is always coded in GSM character set; parameter values are
expected to be given as specified via AT+CSCS.
