Celerra Network Server Command Reference Manual
The <cel_name> is the name for the remote Celerra Network Server,
and the <ip> is the IP address of the remote Celerra Network Server
Control Station. The <cel_name> and <ip> must be specified for the
following:
For active/passive SRDF, the initialization procedure requires the
nas_rdf -init command to establish the trusted relationship
between the source and destination Celerra Network Servers
using the destination Celerra name and Control Station (CS0) IP
address.
For Celerra Replicator, nas_rdf -init establishes trusted
communication between the source and destination Celerra
Network Servers using the remote Celerra name and Control
Station IP address.
For both SRDF and Celerra Replicator, initialization must be
performed on both the source and destination Celerra Network
Servers in the configuration.
After specifying <cel_name> and <ip>, the user is first prompted to
establish the login account (for example, rdfadmin) that will manage
the remote site, then prompted to enter the passphrase for the remote
Celerra Network Server. The passphrase must be the same between
two Celerra pairs to enable communication.
If no <cel_name> or <ip> is specified, by default it is assumed that
the source Celerra Network Server is using SRDF; otherwise, the
command will fail.
-activate
Initiates an SRDF failover from the source Celerra Network Server to
the destination. The -activate is executed on the destination Celerra
Network Server at the discretion of the user. The -activate option sets
each SRDF-protected volume on the source Celerra Network Server
as read-only, and each mirrored volume on the destination Celerra
Network Server is set as read-write. The SRDF standby Data Movers
acquire the IP and MAC addresses, file systems, and export tables of
their source counterparts.
-restore
Restores a source Celerra Network Server after a failover. The
-restore is initially executed on the destination Celerra Network
Server. The data on each destination volume is copied to the
corresponding volume on the source Celerra Network Server. On the
destination Celerra Network Server, services on each SRDF standby
Data Mover are stopped. (NFS clients connected to these Data
