(8) Disconnect battery cables.
(9) Remove battery hold-down clamp and battery
(Fig. 16).

(10) Remove battery tray (Fig. 17).

(11) Disconnect cables from the shift levers at the
transaxle (Fig. 18).
CAUTION: Pry up with equal force on both sides of
shifter cable isolator bushings to avoid damaging
cable isolator bushings.
(12) Remove cable retaining clips and remove
cables from bracket (Fig. 18).

(13) Raise vehicle on hoist.
(14) Remove converter heat shield (Fig. 19).
