Simrad TV80 Reference Manual

Turning off the TV80

The TV80 is a software program, and you have to stop it when you finish your session. You
may also wish to power down the Processor Unit and the display. If you know that you will
not use the TV80 for a long time, we recommend that you also switch of the receiver unit(s).
Context
You must never turn off the TV80 by means of the on/off switch on the Processor Unit. You
must always exit the TV80 program by selecting

Observe that the TV80 program closes down.

If the Processor Unit does not turn itself off automatically, use the functionality
provided by the operating system to switch it off manually.

Turn off the display.
If required, refer to the instructions provided by the display manufacturer.

If relevant, power off each sensor receiver.
The sensor receiver is normally not fitted with an on/off switch. To power down, you
must disconnect the power cable.

Setting up summary

Before a new TV80 system can provide any information you must set it up. You must first
install the software. In order to add one or more catch monitoring sensors to your system, you
must first connect the necessary receiver unit(s), and define the communication parameters.
Finally, you must set up the communication parameters for your navigation sensors.

• All system units have been installed.
• All cables have been connected and verified.
• All system units have been inspected.
• The TV80 operational software is available.
• The TV80 software license is available.
