Managing an ITEX Syringe and Trap Assemble

Installing the ITEX Syringe and Trap into the ITEX Tool

This section provides information for installing the ITEX syringe and trap into the ITEX
Tool, for removing the HS syringe from the ITEX tool, for setting the flush gas pressure.

 To install an ITEX syringe and trap into the ITEX tool
1. Assemble the ITEX Syringe with trap/needle following the order shows in

a. Slide the seal provided with the ITEX trap on the bottom of the trap up to reach the
stopper.
b. Carefully insert the ITEX trap into the ITEX syringe as far as goes.
c. Slide the fitting on the ITEX trap up to reach the tip of the syringe, then secure the
assemble by screwing the manually fitting into the syringe without overtightening.
d. Internal view of the assemble where the ITEX trap is coupled with the ITEX syringe.
2. Remove the retaining nut from the tool, locate the O-ring and put it over the syringe glass
barrel up to the flange. This is a protection for the glass flange. See
