TriPlus RSH Tool Referencing and Calibration

Introduction
Thermo Scientific
ATTENTION It is important removing the syringe from the Tool holder. See
"Maintenance,"
for details. This measure prevents any accidental syringe damage.
The only exception is the SPME Tool. The SPME Fiber Holder must be installed, but the
fiber should be removed for protection and safe handling because the SPME Plunger is
referenced at its topmost position. The RSH Firmware will trigger an error message if the
SPME Plunger is not sensed.
Only one TriPlus RSH Tool is used as a Reference Tool while all the other tools, used within
the same TriPlus RSH, must be calibrated relative to the Reference Tool.
This process is necessary only if more than one TriPlus RSH Tool is used within the same
system. It is advisable to follow this process when a tool is most often used more that the
others (for example a LS Tool is most often used but sometimes a HS Tool or a SPME Tool is
required for other applications).
If the Reference and Calibration process is done at the installation, the system will be
prepared for a fast turnaround of various applications, as well as for automated tool changes
within a cycle.
The TR Station or ATC Station must not change position, and only calibrated TriPlus RSH
Tools should be used. If the Station in object has changed position, it is necessary to define the
Reference Point again, and re-calibrate all the other TriPlus RSH Tools, and re-teach all the
modules.
If the Reference Tool is accidently slightly damaged (for example, the lower needle guide
assembly is slightly bent), but still functioning, it is possible to re-calibrate the Reference Tool,
and the deviation in the original Reference Point is stored for further use.
