8. Apply O.Sec of sealant around the companion flange splines.

Caution
• If the specified preload cannot be obtained, remove
the differential and replace the distance piece or ad-
just the shim thickness and check it again.
9_ Hold the companion flange with the SST, and tighten lock-
nut and new washer until the specified drive pinion preload
is obtained. .
10_ Install the propeller shaft- (Refer to Section L.)
