IMPORTANT: Incorrect settings for Frame Size, Scheduling Cycle, and DL Ratio will
result in poor performance and may cause service outages.
Synchronization Mode: (SC only) Select the method to synchronize one or more RDL-
3000 units. This selection is available only when Fixed Frame mode is enabled.
The RDL-3000 synchronization feature must be used at any site where two or more
sector controllers are deployed (collocated), and networks of geographically collocated
cells are located close enough to introduce RF interference.
Internal Reference: The RF transmitters are synchronized to the internal PPS
module. The PPS port operates as an output (refer to Synchronization Output field
below). Use this unit as the master when GPS is not required.
GPS Input: The PPS module is synchronized by the installed GPS module. The RF
transmitters are synchronized to the internal PPS module. The PPS port operates as
an output (refer to Synchronization Output field below). Use this unit as the master to
synchronize other sector controllers when GPS is required. This option is grayed-out
if the GPS hardware is not installed.
External PPS: The PPS module is synchronized by an external PPS signal received
on the PPS port. The RF transmitters are synchronized to the internal PPS module.
The PPS port operates as an input (refer to Synchronization Output field below). Use
this unit as a slave when multiple sector controllers must be synchronized.
Synchronization Output: (SC only) Enable or disable the synchronization port (PPS).
Disabled ( ): The PPS port output is disabled.
Enabled ( ): The synchronization port output is active. Use this port to receive or
transmit PPS signals (refer to Synchronization Mode field above).
Synchronization Output Termination: (SC only) Set the PPS output impedance.
When the synchronization port (PPS) output is enabled, the port termination impedance
must be specified. When the PPS ports of collocated RDL-3000 units are cabled
together, the last RDL-3000 in the daisy chain (no tee adapter) should have the
termination set to 50 ohms or 75 ohms (based on cable type). All other units should be
set to high impedance (None).
None: Port termination is high impedance.
50 Ohms: Port termination impedance is 50 Ohms.
75 Ohms: Port termination impedance is 75 Ohms.
