PIM-SSM configuration example
Network requirements
As shown in
•
different organizations form stub networks, and one or more receiver hosts exist in each stub
network. The entire PIM domain operates in the SSM mode.
Host A and Host C are multicast receivers in two stub networks.
•
Router D connects to the network that comprises the multicast source (Source) through
•
GigabitEthernet 0/0/0.
Router A connects to stub network N1 through GigabitEthernet 0/0/0, and to Router D and Router E
•
through GigabitEthernet 0/0/3 and GigabitEthernet 0/0/1 respectively.
•
Router B and Router C connect to stub network N2 through their respective GigabitEthernet 0/0/0,
and to Router E through their respective GigabitEthernet 0/0/1.
Router E connects to Router A, Router B, Router C and Router D.
•
The SSM group range is 232.1.1.0/24.
•
IGMPv3 will run between Router A and N1, and between Router B/Router C and N2.
