Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:

Step 1 Establish the multi-device backup platform. Take Router A as an example. The configuration
of Router B is similar to the configuration of Router A.
# Configure the BFD session at the access side to fast detect the interface or link abnormality
and trigger the VRRP master/slave switchover. The IP address of GE 1/0/0.2 on Router B is
10.0.1.2.
[RouterA] bfd
[RouterA-bfd] quit
[RouterA] bfd bfd bind peer-ip 10.0.1.2
[RouterA-bfd-session-bfd] discriminator local 1
[RouterA-bfd-session-bfd] discriminator remote 2

# Bind the interface to the VRRP backup group. The sub-interface GE 1/0/0.2 is used here.
Configure VRRP to monitor the BFD session status and network-side interface status.

Configure the protection path for the network-side traffic to return.
Bind the user access interface to the RBP.
VRRP backup group ID
IP addresses of the routers that back up each other
Backup ID, which is used together with the RBS to determine the RBP that the user belongs
to
NOTE
Only the configurations of user information backup are mentioned here. For other configurations, refer to
related configuration guides.
NOTE
To differentiate master and slave devices, you need to set different VRRP priorities on the two devices.
The device with higher VRRP priority is the master device.
