Remove the reservoi r cap and d i a p h ragm .
Drain brake fluid .
•
•
Remove the dust boot.
Remove the circlip with the special too l .
•
09900-06 1 08 : Snap ring pliers
Remove the piston/primary cup with return s pring .
MAST E R CYLI N D E R I N S PECTI O N
Inspect t h e m aster cylinder bore for a n y scraatches or other
damage.
I nspect the piston surface for scratches or other da mage .
Inspect the primary c u p and d u st boot for wear or d a ma g e .
MAST E R CYLI N D E R REAS S E M B LY A N D
REMO U NT I N G
Reassem ble a n d remo u nt the master cylinder i n t h e reverse
order of removal and d isassembly, and also ca rry out the
following steps.
CAUTION :
Wash the master cylinder components with fresh brake fluid
before reassembly. Never use cleaning solvent or gasoline
to wash them .
•
Apply brake fluid to the cylinder bore and all the internals
to be inserted into the bore .
•
Reassemble a n d remount the master cylinder. (Refer to
page 6- 5 . )
When remounting the master cylinder on the h an d lebar,
first tig hten the clamp bolt for upside.
CAUTION :
Bleed air after reassembling the master cylinder. (Refer to
page 2- 1 2) .
