THROTTLE CABLE ADJUSTMENT
A twin throttle cable system is used in this motorcycle . Ca­

j u st the pulling cable.
Returning Cable Play
The retu rning cable adjuster should h ave 2 - 3 m m
(0.08 - 0 . 1 2 i n ) o f c learance as shown i n t h e i l l u stration .
If the adj ustment is necessary, carry out the proced ure
below :
Loosen the lock n ut @ .
Turn adj uster @ to obtain the clearance @of 2 - 3 m m
(0.08 -0. 1 2 in ) .
Tig hten the lock n ut @ securely.
Pulling Cable Play
The p u l l i ng cable play @ should be 0. 5 - 1 . 0 m m
(0 . 0 2 - 0. 04 i n ) . If t h e adjustment is necessary, carry out
the proced u re below :
Turn the handlebar a l l the way to the left .
Loosen lock nut ® .
Turn adjuster ® t o o btain a c a b l e p lay o f 0. 5 - 1 . 0 m m
(0. 0 2 - 0 . 04 in ) .
Tig hten l ock nut ® securely.
M a ke sure that the clearance of {)is less than 1 . 0 m m
(0.04 i n ) when t h e th rottle grip is fully opened .
WARNING:
After the adjustment is completed, check that handlebar
movement does not raise the engine idle speed and that the
throttle grip returns smoothly and automatically .
AIDLE RPM (Idling adjustment)
NO TE:
Make this ad justment when the engine is hot.
Start up the engine and set its speed at a nywhere be­
tween 1 300 and 1 500 r/min by turning the throttle stop
(j).

Turn in or out the pilot screw ® with in 1 12 turn from the
standard settin g , and set it when the engine s peed is at
the highest possible l evel .
After this adjustment, recheck the idling speed and ad­
just to between 1 300 and 1 500 rlmin with throttle stop
screw if necessary.
