This section describes the servicing procedures for each item
of the Periodic Maintenance requirements.
CYLI N D E R H EAD BOLTS AN D N UTS,
CYLI N DE R N UTS, EXHAUST PIPE BO LTS A N D
M U F FLER C O N N ECTIONS
Tighten I nitial 5 Hours and Every 30 Hours

CYLINDER H EAD A N D CYLINDER •
Remove the frame covers, seat and fuel tank.
•
Disco n n ect the spark plug cap and breather hose.
Disconnect the d e-com p o cable. ( Refer to page 3- 2 . )
•
Remove the upper side o f engine m o u nting bolts a n d
cylinder h ead cover. ( Refer t o pages 3 - 3 a n d 3- 7 . )
First loosen a n d retig hten t h e four bolts CD a n d two n uts
o to the specified torque with a torqu e wrench sequen­
tially in d iagonally with the engine is cold .
Tightening torque
•
Bolt CD : 35 - 40 N'm (3 . 5 - 4. 0 kg-m, 25 . 5 - 29 . 0 Ib-ft)
Nut 0: 23 - 27 N'm ( 2 . 3 - 2 . 7 kg-m, 1 6 . 5 - 1 9 . 5 Ib-ft)
After firmly tightening the cylinder head bolts a n d n uts,
tig hten the two cylinder nuts @ to the s pecified torq u e .

Tightening torque
Nut @: 23 - 27 N ' m ( 2 . 3 - 2 . 7 kg-m, 1 6 . 5 - 1 9. 5 Ib-ft)
When insta lling the cylinder head cover, apply S U Z U K I

EXHAUST PIPE AND M U FFLER
Tighten the exhaust pipe bolts @, muffler connection bolt
® and muffler mou nting bolts ® to the specified torqu e .
Tightening torque
Bolt @: 1 8 - 28 N ' m ( 1 . 8 - 2 .8 kg-m , 1 3 .0 - 20 . 0 Ib-ft)
Bolt ®: 1 8 - 28 N'm ( 1 . 8 - 2 . 8 kg-m, 1 3 . 0 - 20 . 0 Ib-ft)
Bolt ®: 23 - 28 N'm ( 2 . 3 - 2 . 8 kg-m, 1 6 . 5 - 20.0 Ib-ft)
