STARTER RELAY AN D S I DE-STAN D/IG N ITION I NTERLOCK RELAY

STARTER RELAY I N S PECTIO N
Discon nect the lead wire of starter m otor at starter relay.
•
• Turn on the ignition switch, inspect the contin uity between
the terminals, positive and negative, when squeezing the
clutch lever and pushing the starter button .
If the starter relay i s i n sound condition, continuity if found.
09900-2500 2 : Pocket tester
• Discon nect the lead wires from the starter relay.
Check the coil for "open" , "ground" and ohmic resistance.
•
The coil is i n good condition if the resistance is as follows.
Starter relay resistance: 3 - 7 Q

Disconnect the side-stand/ignition interlock relay.
First, check the insulation between G) and @ terminals with
pocket tester. Then a pply 1 2 volts to

to @ , and check the continuity between CD

If there is n o continuity, replace it with a new one.
