Remove thE:! u pper beari n g .
Remove t h e upper bearing race and lower beari n g race
with the s pecial tool s .
09941 -549 1 1 : Bearing outer race remover
09941 -749 1 0 : Steering bearing remover and installer
•
Remove the lower bearing with the special tool .
09941 -845 1 0 : Bearing remover
CAUTION :
The removed bearing should be replaced with a new one.
I N S PECT I O N
I nspect t h e removed parts f o r t h e following abnorma l ities .
Handlebar d istortion
*
H a ndlebar clamp wear
*
Race wear and brinelling
*
Abnormal noise of bearin g
*
Distortio n o f steering stem
*
REASSEM BLY A N D R E M O U NT I N G
Reassem ble and remount the steering stem in the reverse
order of removal and d isassembly. Pay attention to the fol­
lowing points: •

Press in the u p per and lower beari ng races with the spe­
cial tool .
