Inspect Initial 5 Hours and Every 30 Hours
Loosen the lock nut
Loosen the cable lock nut @ and adjust the play of the
cable with the adjuster @ u ntil play of the cl utch lever
• is 1 0 - 1 5 m m .

Clutch lever play 1 0 - 1 5 mm(0.4 - 0 . 6 i n )
Tighten the l ock n uts
NO TE:
Minor adjustment can be made bV the ad juster
loosening the lock nut
the clutch cable with motor oil.
DRIVE C HA I N
Clean, lubricate and inspect each time the
motorcycle is redden
Visually inspect the d rive chain for the listed below possi­
ble defects . ( Lift the rear wheel and p l ace a jack or block

under the engine, and turn the rear wheel slowly by hand
with the transmission in N EUTRAL.
* Loose pins
Damaged rol le rs
Dry or rusted links
*
Kinked or b i n d ing links
*
Excessive wear
*
* M issing O-rings

If any defects a re fou n d , the d rive chain m ust be replaced .
•
CHECKING
•
Remove the cotter pin ® (For U . S . A . and Canada) .
Loosen the axle nut
•
Tension the d rive chain fully by turning the right a n d l eft
(j).
chain adjusters
Count out 2 1 pins ( 2 0 pitches) on the chain a n d meas­
ure the d istance between the two points . If the d istance
exceeds fol l o wing limit, the chain m ust be replaced .
Service limit: 3 1 9 . 4 mm ( 1 2 . 5 7 in)
