Remove the need le jet
Remove the pilot jet @ and pilot screw @.
Remove the starter p l u nger assembly @.
CAUTION :
Do not attempt to disassem ble the four screws ® this part
® is not serviceable
I N S PECT I O N
Check fol lowing items f o r any d a mage or c logg i n g .
* Pilot jet
* Main jet
* Main air jet
* Pi lot air jet
* N eedle j et air bleeding hole
*
Float
N EEDLE VALVE
If foreign matter is caught between the valve seat and the
needl e , the gasoline will contin u e flowing and cause it to
overflow. If the seat and need l e a re worn beyond the per­
missible lil mits, similar trouble will occur. Conversel y , if the
needle sticks, the gasoline will not flow i nto the float cham­
ber. Clean the float chamber and float parts with g asolil n e .
If t h e need l e is worn a s shown in t h e illustration, replace
it together with a valve seat. Clean the fuel passage of the
mixing chamber with com p ressed air.
FLOAT H EIGHT ADJUSTMENT
To check the float h eight, invert the carburetor body, with
the float arm kept free , measure the height
arm is j ust in contact with need l e valve with calipers.
Bend the tongue (j) as n ecessary to brin g the height
this valve.

: 1 4. 2 ± 1 .0 mm ( O . 56 ± 0 .04 in)
09900-20 1 0 1 : Vernier calipers
