s p e c i f i e d torq u e ( 40 - 5 0 N ' m , 4 . 0 - 5 . 0 k g - m ,

Steering nut socket wrench
Turn the steering stem bracket a bout five or six times
•
to the l eft and right u ntil it locks i n position so that the
taper roller bearings will be seated p roperly.
Turn back the stem nut by 1 /4 - 1 /2 turn.
NO TE:
This ad justmen t will vary from motorcycle to mo torcycle.
CAUTION :
After performing the adjustment and installing the steerin g
stem upper bracket, "rock" the front wheel assembly for
ward and backward to ensure that there is no play and that
the procedure was accomplished correctly .
Finally check to be sure that the steering stem moves free
ly from left to right with its own weight. If play or stiffness
is noticeable, readjust the steering stem nut.
