Symptom and possible causes
Not enough brake fluid in the reservoir.
Air trapped in brake fluid circuit.
Pads worn down.
Too much play on brake lever.
Leakage of brake fluid from hydraulic system .
Worn pads.
Oil adhesion on engaging surface of pads.
Worn disc.
Air entered into hydraulic system.
Carbon adhesion on pad surface.
Tilted pad.
Damaged wheel bearings.
Loose front wheel axle or rear wheel axle.
Worn pads.
Foreign material i n brake fluid.
Clogged return port of master cylinder.
Wrongly fixed pad shim, retainer or spring .
Caliper binding on caliper axles .
Air entered into hydra ulic system .
Insufficienet brake fluid.
I mproper quality of brake fluid.
I nsufficient tightening of connection joints.
Cracked hose.
Worn piston and/or c u p .
Remedy
Refi l l to l evel m ark.
Bleed air out.
Replace.
Adjust.
Repair or replace.
Replace.
Clean disc and pads.
Replace.
Bleed air.
Repair surface with
sandpaper.
Modify pad fitting .
Replace.
Tighten to specified torque.
Replace.
Replace brake fluid.
Disassemble and clean
master cylinder.
Set correctly.
Clean and lubricate.
Bleed air.
Replenish fluid to specified
level; bleed air.
Replace with correct fluid .
Tighten to specified torque.
Replace .
Replace piston a nd/or cup.
