latest firmware or a copy of the pre-existing firmware before you proceed.
To remove the system board, complete the following steps:

Step 2.
Turn off the server (see "Turning off the server" on page 23) and all attached peripheral devices.
Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables as necessary to replace the device.
Step 3.
If the server is in a rack, slide the server out of the rack.
Step 4.
Remove the server cover (see "Removing the server top cover" on page 216).
Step 5.

power module from the trays located on top of the USB/video assembly, if any are installed (see
"Removing a RAID adapter flash power module" on page 260).
Step 12. Remove the DIMMs from the system board and set them aside on a static-protective surface for
reinstallation (see "Removing a memory module" on page 232).
Note: Make a note of the location of each DIMM as you remove it, so that you can later reinstall it
in the same connector.
Step 13. Remove the RAID cache cards from the system board, if any are installed (see "Removing a RAID
cache card" on page 262).
Step 14. Remove the power interposer card assembly, if one is installed (see "Removing the power
