Step 6.
Perform any configuration tasks that are required for the adapter.
Step 7.
Install the cover (see "Replacing the server top cover" on page 216).
Step 8.
Slide the server into the rack.
Step 9.
Reconnect the power cord and any cables that you removed.
Step 10. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
Step 11. If you are replacing a ServeRAID adapter, import your RAID configuration to the replacement adapter

Removing 2.5-inch and 1.8-inch hot-swap drives
Use this information to remove a 2.5-inch or 1.8-inch drive.
To remove a hot-swap drive, complete the following steps.
Attention:
• To avoid damage to the drive connectors, make sure that the server cover is in place and fully closed
whenever you install or remove a drive.
• To make sure that there is adequate system cooling, do not operate the server for more than 2 minutes
without either a drive or a filler panel installed in each bay.
Step 1.
Read the safety information and installation guidelines, see "Safety" on page v and "Installation
guidelines" on page 38.
Step 2.
Removing a 2.5-inch hot-swap drive:
a.
Slide the release latch (orange) up gently to unlock the drive handle
b.
Grasp the handle and pull the drive out of the drive bay.
c.
Skip to step 4.
Step 3.
Removing a 1.8-inch hot-swap drive:
a.
Remove the filler panel.
b.
Grasp the orange release latch on the drive tray handle of the drive tray for the drive that you
want to remove and slide the release latch down to unlock the drive-tray handle. Rotate
the drive tray handle down and pull the handle toward you to slide the drive out of the bay.
Lift the drive out of the drive tray.
