Step Check items
1 Is the main charger dirty?
2 Is the transfer charger dirty?
3 Is the transfer charger wire dirty?
4 Is there any foreign matter or stain on
the slit glass?
5 Are the connectors of discharge LED
harness securely connected?
6 Is the discharge LED dirty?
7 Is any of the discharge LEDs off?
8 Is the magnetic brush in proper con-
tact with the drum?
9 Is the developer sleeve pressuriza-
tion mechanism working?
10 Is the developer material transported
normally?
11 Is the platen cover or RADF opened? Close the platen cover or RADF.
12 Are the original glass (especially the
position of shading correction plate),
mirror and lens dirty?

Prescription
Clean or replace the needle elec-
trode and main charger grid.
Clean the transfer charger.
Clean the transfer charger wire.
Remove the foreign matter or stain.
Reconnect the harness securely.
Clean the discharge LED.
Replace the discharge LED.
Adjust the doctor-sleeve gap.
Check the mechanism.
Remove foreign matters if there is
any.
Clean them.
