6. Remove the lock nuts and washers securing the
exhaust pipes to the cylinder head; then carefully
remove the turbocharger and exhaust pipes assembly.
If needed remove the cap screws securing the lower
heat shield to the exhaust pipes and turbocharger.
7. Remove the cap screws securing the starter motor to
the engine. Remove the starter motor.
8. On the 5000, remove the cap screws securing the two
intake flanges to the cylinder head; then remove the
flanges.

9. On the 9000, remove the four cap screws securing
the manifold adapter assembly; then remove the
manifold.

10. Remove the three cap screws securing the thermostat
cap to the engine; then remove the cap and thermo-
stat.

 NOTE: If engine case cleaning or replacing is nec-
essary, remove the coolant and oil sensors from the
engine case.
