DTC PI706: Open in Transmission Range
Switch Circuit (no gear position inputs)
NOTE: Record all freeze data before you troubleshoot.
1. Test the transmission range switch (see page 14-
138).
Is the switch
OK ?
Y E S - G o to step 2.
NO — Replace the transmission range s w i t c h . •
2. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
3. Check for continuity between the B20 and B22
terminals and body ground.

continuity?
Y E S - G o to step 4.
NO —Repair open in the wires between the B20 and
B22 terminals and ground (G101), or repair poor
ground ( G 1 0 D . B
4. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
5. Shift to S position.
6. Measure the voltage between the D9 and B20 or
B22 terminals.
