9. Tighten the cylinder head bolts. Tighten the
cylinder head bolts is sequence to 29 N-m (3.0
k g f m , 22 Ibfft). Use a beam-type torque wrench.
When using a preset type torque wrench, be sure to
tighten slowly and do not overtighten. If a bolt
makes any noise while you are torquing it, loosen
the bolt and retighten it.

10. Mark the bolt head (A) and the cylinder head (B) as
shown.
11. Tighten the cylinder head bolts until the mark on
the bolt head aligns with the second mark on the
cylinder head (turn the bolt 180°).
If you are using a new cylinder head bolt, tighten
the bolt to the the third mark (270°).
12. Install the intake manifold (A) and three tighten the
nuts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps,
beginning with the inner nuts. Always use a new
intake manifold gasket (B) and new O-ring (C).
