Ignition Wire Inspection and Test
1. Carefully r e m o v e the ignition wires by pulling on
the rubber boots. Do not bend the wires; you might
break t h e m inside.
2. Check the c o n d i t i o n of the ignition wire terminals. If
any t e r m i n a l is corroded, clean it, and if it is broken
or distorted, replace the ignition w i r e .

3. Connect o h m m e t e r probes, and measure
resistance while flexing and m o v i n g the wire. Do
not bend the wires, you might break t h e m inside.
Ignition Wire Resistance:
25 k Q max. at 68°F (20°C)

4. If resistance exceeds 25 k Q , replace the ignition
wire.
