INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1 Connect the OBDII scan tool or TOYOTA hand–held tester, and read
value of mass air flow rate.

Check voltage of mass air flow meter power source.
1MZ–FE ENGINE – CIRCUIT INSPECTION
(1) Remove the fuse cover on the instrument
panel.
(2) Connect the OBDII scan tool or TOYOTA
hand–held tester to the DLC 3.
(3) Turn ignition switch ON and OBDII scan tool
or TOYOTA hand–held tester main switch
ON.
(4) Start the engine.
Read mass air flow rate on the OBDII scan
tool or TOYOTA hand–held tester.

II
(1) Disconnect the mass air flow meter connec–
tor.
(2) Turn ignition switch ON.
Measure voltage between terminal 1 of mass air
flow meter connector and body ground.
Voltage: 9 –14 V
Check for open in harness and connector
between EFI main relay and mass air flow
meter (See page IN–31).
