Access Point Detection
The Access Point Detection screen consists of the following tabs:

Enabling and Configuring AP Detection

Approved APs
Unapproved APs (AP Reported)
Unapproved APs (MU Reported)
AP Containment
6.2.1 Enabling and Configuring AP Detection
Use the
Configuration
of detected APs allowed and define the timeout and threshold values used for detection. The switch can
enable both Access Ports and MUs to scan and detect Access Points within the switch managed network.
Continually re-validating the credentials of associated devices reduces the possibility of an Access Point
hacking into the switch managed network.
To configure AP Detection:
1. Select
Security
2. Select the
Configuration
menu options to view and configure the detection of other Access Points.
