interface sme

To configure the Cisco SME interface on a switch, use the interface sme command. To remove the
interface, use the no form of the command,

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, clustering must be enabled using the cluster enable command and Cisco SME
services must be activated using the sme enable command.
Once you have configured the interface, use the no shutdown command to enable the interface.
To delete the Cisco SME interface, you must first remove the switch from the cluster. Use the no sme
cluster command to remove the switch from the cluster and then use the no interface command to delete
the interface.
The interface commands are available in the (config-if) submode.
Examples
The following example configures and enables the Cisco SME interface on the MPS-18/4 module slot
and the default Cisco SME port:
switch# config terminal
switch(config)# interface sme 3/1
switch(config-if)# no shutdown
