Possible commissioning methods
● Basic commissioning using Startdrive in the TIA Portal, followed by detailed parameter
assignment in SINUMERIK ONE Commissioning Tool
Precondition: "SINAMICS Startdrive" option package in the TIA Portal
With this method, the basic commissioning is carried out in the TIA Portal. The configuration
data are then loaded to the drive. The configuration of the Safety Integrated Functions,
telegram configuration, acceptance tests and additional detailed settings can then be made
in the SINUMERIK ONE Commissioning Tool. However, only S120 drives are suitable for
this method.
● Commissioning only via Startdrive in the TIA Portal
Precondition: "SINAMICS Startdrive" option package in the TIA Portal
For a SINUMERIK MC in conjunction with an S210 drive, this is the only method to
completely commission and configure the drive. The SINUMERIK ONE Commissioning
Tool is not suitable for S210 drives.
● Commissioning using the device master data files in the TIA Portal
Basic commissioning without the functions and optimization methods of the "Startdrive"
application intended for the selected drive. It is especially important to note that the drive-
based Safety Integrated Functions cannot be set using this method. How you proceed using
this method is described in the "SINUMERIK MC Commissioning Manual" in the Chapter
"Commissioning drives using the device master files".

Starting the TIA Portal

Procedure
1. You start the TIA Portal by double-clicking on the link on the Windows desktop.
- Or -
Call the start menu "All programs > Siemens Automation > TIA Portal V16".
Result
The TIA Portal opens. The functions of a SINUMERIK MC are now available in the TIA Portal.
