Overview

The Safety Integrated safety solution places specific requirements on the hardware
components that are used.
Independent of the scope of the safety functions used, you can use failsafe SIMATIC and
standard I/O for PROFINET IO (Page 47) - as known from SIMATIC Safety.
The drive system that you can use depends on whether a safety-relevant encoder is used - and
which axis type is to be used.

Components of an MC

Description
"SINUMERIK MC" comprises an open-loop control-specific part (PLC, CP, NC) and a PC-
specific part (PC system).
When creating the "SINUMERIK MC" in the TIA Portal, all subcomponents and the PC system
are simultaneously created. Some of the safety settings required can also be made via an
external SINAMICS drive. In addition to the complete SINUMERIK MC, this is why it is also
recommended to always simultaneously create a drive and to connect it to SINUMERIK MC via
PROFINET.

Customized user interfaces can be used via the PC system with configured WinCC RT
Advanced.
You use the SINUMERIK ONE Commissioning Tool for commissioning SINUMERIK MC.
