5-24 BRAKES
b) Adjustment
NOTE:
Make sure for following conditions before cable adjustment.
D No air is trapped in brake system.
D Brake pedal travel is proper.
D Brake pedal has been depressed a few times with about
D Parking brake lever has been pulled up few times.
D Rear brake pads are not worn out beyond limit.
After confirming that above 5 conditions are all satisfied, adjust parking
brake lever stroke by loosening or tightening self locking nut (3 in fig-
ure).
NOTE:
Check brake pads for dragging after adjustment.
Parking brake stroke: when lever is pulled
up.
Pulling force:
1. Parking brake lever
2. Brake cable
3. Self locking nut

FLUSHING BRAKE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

It is recommended that entire hydraulic system be thoroughly
flushed with clean brake fluid whenever new parts are installed in
hydraulic system.
Periodical change of brake fluid is also recommended.
30 kg (66 Ibs) load.
Pulling force: 20 – 25 kg (44 – 55 lbs)
10 – 15 kg (22 – 30 lbs)
20 – 25 kg (44 – 55 lbs)
(for vehicles with drum brake)
10 – 15 kg (22 – 30 lbs)
(for vehicles with disc brake)
(for vehicles with drum brake)
(for vehicles with disc brake)
Within 3 – 5 notches
