Shift Lock Solenoid; Interlock Cable - Suzuki Baleno Manual

SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID (If equipped)
1) Remove console box, and then select indicator.
2) Replace shift lock solenoid.
3) Install indicator and cover as they were.
NOTE:
D Shift selector lever to L range to facilitate work.
D Check that detent pin is locked at "P" position by lock
plate.
D Check to confirm that lock plate is pulled in when ignition
key is turned to "ON" and brake pedal is depressed, so
allowing detent pin to be pushed down.
INTERLOCK CABLE (If equipped)
NOTE:
Don't bend interlock cable excessively when removing and
installing it, or system will not operate correctly.
REMOVAL
1) If vehicle is equipped with air bag system, disconnect negative
cable at battery and disable air bag system, referring to "DISAB-
LING AIR BAG SYSTEM" in Section 9J.
2) Remove steering column hole cover and steering joint cover.
3) Disconnect steering shaft upper joint bolt and steering column
mounting nuts.
CAUTION:
Steering column mounting nuts should be loosened
with steering shaft joint upper side tightened as this
could cause damage to shaft joint bearing.
4) Remove interlock cable clamp screw located at ignition switch
and disconnect interlock cable from release shaft with ignition
switch turned at "ACC" position. And then turn ignition switch to
"LOCK" position.
