3. Oil filler cap
4. Throttle body

MASTER CYLINDER REPAIR

REMOVE AND INSTALL MASTER CYLINDER
ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
NOTE:
Do not allow brake fluid to get on painted surfaces.
[1.8L engine RH model]
1) Disconnect air flow meter coupler.
2) Remove air cleaner outlet hose.
3) Disconnect reservoir lead wire at coupler.
4) Clean around reservoir cap and take out fluid with syringe or
such.
5) Depress brake pedal several times for removal convenience.
6) Disconnect two brake pipes from master cylinder as shown.
7) Remove two attaching nuts.
1. Master cylinder
8) Remove master cylinder.
2. Brake pipe
3. Reservoir tank
4. Vacuum hose
5. Throttle body
CAUTION:
D Brake master cylinder cannot be disassembled in prin-
ciple. Should primary piston have come off from cylin-
der while dismounting or handling it, wash it in the
same specified fluid as that in reservoir tank and re-
place it in cylinder.
D Don't make as flaws and hitted marks on the piston, on
which vacuum seal slides.
WARNING:
Brake master cylinder cannot be disassembled. When
any part of it other than primary piston as described in
CAUTION above has been disassembled, or when any-
thing faulty is found in it, it must be replaced as an as-
sembly.
