INSTALLATION
1) Mount steering gear case to body and tighten gear case mount
bolts to specified torque.
Tightening Torque
(a): 55 N·m (5.5 kg-m, 40.0 lb-ft)

2) Install tie rod ends to knuckles (R & L). Tighten each castle nut
1. Tie rod end
2. Knuckle
until holes for split pin align but within specified torque and then
3. Castle nut
4. Split pin
bend split pin as shown.
Tightening Torque
(b): 35 – 55 N·m (3.5 – 5.5 kg-m, 25.5 – 39.5 lb-ft)
NOTE:
Removed split pin should be replaced with new one.
3) Be sure that steering wheel and brake discs (R & L) are all
1. Upper joint bolt
2. Lower joint bolt
straight ahead driving state and then insert steering lower joint
into steering pinion shaft.
4) Tighten steering shaft joint bolts to specified torque (Lower side
first and then upper side).
Tightening Torque
(c): 25 N·m (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 lb-ft)
5) Install steering shaft joint covers.
6) Put back floor mat as it was.
7) Install both wheels and tighten wheel nuts to specified torque.
3. Steering shaft

8) Lower hoist.
9) Check toe setting. Adjust as required (Refer to FRONT END
ALIGNMENT).
